Starting as the TB Society in 1908 we still provide public health leadership today. We provide services to improve air quality and reduce the impact of Asthma in children, adults, families and communities. In addition, we work to reduce tobacco use and exposure to secondhand smoke, and offer services to people with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) such as Asthma, emphysema and chronic bronchitis to help them better manage their illness. We also support research to find cures for lung disease.

We still need a lot of helping hands, so please come out for a day of family fun on the Peninsula at the 19th Annual Bike 4 Breath charity ride presented by Life Technologies and
Breathe California.
Breathe California has been working for over 100 years to eliminate the causes and burden of lung disease, promote clean air, and improve public health in the Bay Area. We invite you to donate your time and join us in the fight against lung disease!
During the event on Saturday July 10th, we need volunteers to assist with:
- Registration
- Event Set-Up
- Course Marking & Monitoring
- Handing Out Food/Water at our Rest Stops locations
- Staffing our “Kid’s Zone”
- and numerous other duties
If you are busy on July 10th, you can also volunteer during the week! We can always use individuals to lend a helping hand with pre and post-race activities on the week leading up to the race, and the Monday following the race. There are volunteer opportunities on Friday, July 9th, from 9am-12pm to help with pre-race logistics, and on Monday, July 12th, from 11am-3pm to help with post-event clean-up.
